about

This is panalivio an afroperuvian rhythm which is usually sung with religious motifs, we worked along with cotito with this song trying to capture the essence of the rhythm itself, the feel of this "march" is kind of always behind the beat. La cajita, goes along the whole song as a “clave”. We recorded with guitarist Roberto Arguedas, Cotito´s mentor, one of the greatest living old school musician. There´s a part in the track where you can listen to the traditional guitar riff on the panalivio rhythm...as it used to be...The verses are in Zulu.

lyrics

Si yo inspiro a bailar
Canta rie y a gozar
Los recuerdos del pasado
Alimentan este mal
Te gusta querer pero cuesta olvidar
De que sirve recordar

Malivio Son

Vamo pa´ bailar

Mena tanda wena
Mena tanda wena
Mena tanda wena
Mena tanda wena

en la esquina vamo ´a buscar
' aldito pa´ vacilar
recorriendo el mundo entero
para luego regresar

panalivio

No te ciegues al mirar
Mejor riete al llorar
Si te vas, yo no vengo
Recuerdos ....para olvidar

Nos gusta querer
Pero cuesta olvidar

Mena tanda wena
Mena tanda wena
Mena tanda wena
Mena tanda wena
