about

While on tour in Scandinavia, we got an invitation from Finish band “Fat Beat Soundsystem” to jam in their studio in Helsinki…. some drinks later, we are all grooving to a festejo rhythm and guitar riff that came out during the jam, exchanging solos and improvising vocals…..one of us remembers this old melody and lyrics from way back ….maybe it was nostalgia: “festejo from my land” …. Few days later we are in Switzwerland and we run out of encores, we remember the track and play it live… the crowd went crazy and invades the stage dancing along…….after that it becomes a staple of the live show

lyrics

lyrics

translation:

Little Manue’, come with your cajon
Because the girl Jesú wants to dance
Dance and tap your feet to the festejo of my land
With her blessing, full of love
The girl Jesú kisses Manué
Dance and tap your feet to the festejo of my land
